Our Pastor's Family

"God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!  He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us" (Ephesians 3:20, The Message).

Raymond Maurer is the founding Pastor of New Life Christian Church.  Ray has been involved in Pastoral ministry for more than 20 years.  Over the years he's learned how to listen to God's leading and present messages that make the Bible interesting and practical.  He loves to teach and equip others to live out God's purpose for their lives.

Upon the completion of his bachelors degree in Christian Ministries, Ray  served as a pastor in Illinois for five years while completing a Master of Divinity degree at Lincoln Christian Seminary in 1994.  He completed a Doctor of Ministry degree at Fuller Seminary in 2004.

Ray and Katrina have been married for more than 20 years.  They have four children: Sydney, Grace, Quinn and Jeremiah.   Katrina typically plays keyboard and leads the worship time.  Katrina completed her degree in Teaching at Illinois State University.  Katrina taught in the area of Special Education for four years.

As the apostle Paul said, "I planted the seed, Apollos watered the plants, but God made you grow.  It’s not the one who plants or the one who waters who is at the center of this process but God, who makes things grow" (1 Corinthians 3:6, The Message).
